Fido

Don’t let the horrible dvd cover scare you away, Fido isn’t a generic slasher or horror movie, in fact it’s a comedy.

I like zombies (just to get that out of the way).

I’m not going to review it in detail this time, but instead just breeze through it. Earth was hit with a strange particle or something that re-animates the dead, thus making them zombies. A scientist went on to create a collar that could domesticate a wild zombie that would render the zombie to a mere rotting slave worker. These zombies are used for doing basic tasks and jobs from walking the dog to delivering milk (under human supervision of course). The story follows little Timmy who doesn’t really have any friends until his mother gets a zombie to fit in with the rest of the neighborhood. Timmy names his zombie “Fido” and they become good friends and go on a great adventure (a lot like that dog movie Skip or something). Despite having an R rating (it was originally PG-13) the film is quite mellow as far as content. Really there’s only “zombie-related violence” which includes a few zombie eating citizens and yeah…nothing horrific. Hrmm…so yeah it’s a great dark comedy for zombie and lovers and probably not so loving zombie people. The acting and script are both great as well and I was laughing throughout the movie.

wow…that description sucked…meh

4/5

The trailer doesn’t do justice to the film, but here it is anyways.
